Emma Cooper - The First Time I Saw You

Sometimes you’re lucky and unexpectedly find a great story. That’s how I felt with “The First Time I Saw You.” Emma Cooper was previously unknown to me as a writer. I just saw someone raving about this book on Instagram. I one-clicked the book and it stayed on my TBR for quite a while. A few days ago I started reading it and what should I say? It was great! A really wonderful story, which goes straight to the heart. Great words and writing style, lots of humor and definitely all the feels. Sophie and Samuel are really special (and especially Samuel’s parents are the absolute hit)! 5 stars for me without a doubt!

Here’s the blurb (Link to the book on goodreads):

“Six-foot-two Irish man who answers to the name Samuel McLaughlin.
Has weak shins and enjoys show tunes.
If found, please return to Sophie Williams.

Before Sophie met Samuel she saw the world in grey.
Before Samuel met Sophie, he never believed in love at first sight.

When they first meet, something tells them they are meant to be.
But fate has other ideas.

Now they have lost each other and can’t see a way back.
But they’ve already changed each other’s lives in more ways
than they could have predicted…”

So if you want to give a new author a chance and you’re in the mood for a really well-written story, then I can really recommend “The First Time I Saw You”. By the way, I also downloaded the second book of the author and I’m curious if it’s as good as the first one. I will let you know in another book review…
