Es ist eine kurzweilige und unterhaltsame Lektüre und mir hat die Geschichte der beiden sehr gut gefallen! 🏈 Gibt es noch andere Kandi Steiner Fans hier?

It’s my second book by this author (the first one was „Look the part“) and I‘m pretty happy with her stories so far! Any fans of Jewel E. Ann here who might recommend what to read next?

(🇩🇪⬇️) Do you want to know why this book is so special to me? I'll tell you: First of all, "Pucked" by Helena Hunting is a very entertaining sports romance story that I enjoyed very much. It's about ice hockey player Alex and Violet, his teammate's sister. The story is well written, I often had to smile, all in all very recommendable. I will definitely read the next books in the series as well.

But what is so special about this book? Our hero Alex is originally from Guelph, Canada. This is a smaller city of about 120,000 people, about 1 hour away from Toronto. When Alex tells Violet for the first time that he is from Guelph, I'm like: Ahhh, OMG! I've been there! I know the city, I studied there for a semester during my study abroad in 2005! So not only do I know the university there, I also know the ice rink Alex is talking about, because I saw a game there myself. I thought it was so cool that this Canadian city of all places was mentioned here, which I have a personal connection to. You know, I’m from northern Germany and Guelph is about 6.400 km away from the city I live in. So I think this is quite special... 😉 I rummaged through old pictures and attached a few of (25 year old) me on the UoG campus and in Guelph.

(🇩🇪⬇️) Do you know this? A book or series is hyped and loved by everyone here on Bookstagram, but you don't like it at all? I'm afraid that's what happened to me with this book - „Royal Bully“. It's the first in the Mafia Royals series by Rachel van Dyken. I have heard so many positive things about it and wanted to read the books too. But the prelude didn't convince me at all. Too many characters were introduced at once, for me that was actually kind of confusing. 🤷‍♀️ It's a pity, because I really like Dark Romance. But I think I won't be reading this series... With which book has this happened to you?

Kennt Ihr das? Ein Buch oder eine Serie wird hier auf Bookstagram von allen gehypet und geliebt, aber Euch gefällt es so gar nicht? Ich befürchte, das ist mir mit diesem Buch hier passiert „Royal Bully“. Es ist der Auftakt zur Mafia Royals Serie von Rachel van Dyken. Ich habe so viel Positives dazu gehört und wollte die Bücher nun auch lesen. Aber es hat mich überhaupt nicht überzeugt. Zu viele Charaktere auf einmal vorgestellt, ich hab irgendwie am Ende gar nicht mehr durchgesehen. Schade eigentlich, ich mag Dark Romance ja sonst echt gerne. Aber diese Reihe werde ich erstmal nicht lesen. Bei welchem Buch ist Euch das vielleicht auch schon mal passiert?

The last book I read in 2020 was “The One That Got Away” by @authorhalle 📚. It’s a standalone second-chance sports romance novel. As you might know, I love sports romance very much, so I was very excited to start reading this one. It’s about Ruby, an American sports journalist (and former soccer player) and Luciano, a famous portuguese soccer player.
⚽️
I really enjoyed the story of Ruby and Luciano. Both characters are very likeable and the fact that there are always new circumstances complicating their story makes the book interesting. I really like the author’s writing style, it was a smooth and easy read. I read through the book pretty quickly because I really wanted to know what happens next. So all in all, this book gets 5 stars from me and I can definitely recommend this one to you!

Das letzte Buch, das ich im Jahr 2020 gelesen habe, war "The One That Got Away" von der Autorin Karina Halle. Es handelt sich hierbei um Sports Romance. Wie einige von Euch vielleicht wissen, liebe ich Sports Romance sehr, daher war ich sehr gespannt, dieses Buch zu lesen. Es geht um Ruby, eine amerikanische Sportjournalistin (und ehemalige Fußballspielerin) und Luciano, einen berühmten portugiesischen Fußballspieler.

Ich habe die Geschichte der beiden wirklich genossen. Beide Charaktere sind sehr sympathisch und die Tatsache, dass es immer wieder neue Umstände gibt, die ihre Geschichte verkomplizieren, macht das Buch so interessant. Der Schreibstil der Autorin gefällt mir sehr gut, es war ein flüssiges und leichtes Lesen. Ich habe das Buch ziemlich schnell durchgelesen, weil ich unbedingt wissen wollte, wie es weitergeht. Also alles in allem bekommt dieses Buch 5 Sterne von mir und ich kann es definitiv weiterempfehlen!

As for me, „Look the part“ by @authorjeweleann is one recent example. I have to thank @bellaorevbooks for this rec and of course the author for an amazing 5 ⭐️ read! I was so happy with this book and fell in love with Ellen and Flint right from the beginning 🥰! To me, this shows once again, that one should read a bit more outside of the own comfort zone and give new to you authors a chance. I‘m so happy I did this a lot this year. I discovered great books, for example „The First Time I Saw You“ by @itsemmacooper or The Crowned Duet by @thatcrazykiwiauthor 📚🤗
